The 99 – 7eventh Time Down

I know the last time I wrote about a 7eventh Time Down song, I wasn’t that impressed. But this time is better. I really like The 99 by 7eventh Time Down from Brand New Day (2019).

I can feel the earth slipping from my feet,
Got lost chasing dreams that I can’t seem to reach,
But You never stopped chasing me,
I’ve been hiding from my past,
Wasting time ticking fast,
Thought I was out of reach,
But You never stopped chasing me…

You would search the whole world over to find me,
There’s no place You wouldn’t go,
You’re searching high and low,
You leave the ninety-nine to lead me home,
I can’t outrun Your love,
There’s no road that’s long enough,
You leave the ninety-nine to lead me home,
There’s no place You wouldn’t go,
There’s no place You wouldn’t go.

As I read the bible I look at it from different angles and ask questions to think deeply about the meaning. The line, “There’s no place You wouldn’t go,” made me ask a question. “Is there any place I wouldn’t go?”

In a song that comforts and reminds me of God’s never-ending love, I’m thinking about the lost unbeliever.

To me this song is a challenge to leave behind the 99 saved souls, go out and look for the lost one.

can hear the sound of struggle fade away,
When I hear You call my name,
And I can finally see,
What You see when You look at me,
You’re convinced I’m worth it all,
Nailed the proof up on the cross,
So I can finally see…
